Planting Pilings at Basnights Lone Cedar

Planting Pilings at Basnights Lone Cedar originally uploaded by BOBXNC
The first pilings are going into the ground as Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe begins the long process of rebuilding. The site plan was approved last Wed. night by the Nags Head Board of Commissioners. The Coastland Times reports that the plans call for approximately 500 sq. ft. more customer space and 5 more parking spaces. You can read the NH Planning staff report on the site plan at the agenda for the BOC meeting it is item E.
Lets hope this project moves forward quickly. More photos are available in gallery at photo.jockeysridge.com
It looks like the Osprey who was nesting behind the restaurant is in good shape.

That application and approval have to be some kind of a record for the Kingdom of Nags Head. On the other hand, it looks like I've sold my house finally, so I'll have to stop complaining pretty soon.

While on a Legislative Conference in Raleigh Wed, OBHBA left word to thank Sen. Basnight for setting a precedence and a speed record for pulling permits. Fom Conception to CAMA to Staff to Planning Board to Town Council in 3 weeks. I appreciate it that we will all be able to take advantage of this expedited service from now on. No more needless delays and excuses. Thank you again Senator and good Luck Lone Cedar. I can't wait to come by to eat again.
